Creative Mechanical Timepieces BaselWorld 2017

This year at BaselWorld the world’s largest watch and jewelry fair we came across some very unusual and creative mechanical timepieces from L’Epée a Swiss company based in Delémont in the Swiss Jura Mountains. For over 175 years L’Epée have been at the cutting edge of watch and clock making, with their hallmark being that each and every component is entirely made by hand. For many years L’Epée owed much of it’s reputation to the production of superlative carriage clocks much sought after by the elite and influential. Over the past few years MB&F a Geneva based creative lab in partnership with L’Epée have created some very powerful and visually stunning timepieces. One of these is “Arachnophobia” intense in appearance this eye-catching three-dimensional sculpture is also an impeccably finished clock. The main body of Arachnophobia houses all of the important mechanical elements to power the movement. The eight legs can be moved into a variety of positions including rotated to allow Arachnophobia to stand tall on a desk or splayed so that it can be used as a wall clock.

Remember if you own a self-winding mechanical watch, give it the protection it deserves by using SwissKubiK watch winders, Swiss Watch Winding Technology
